Specialized Support for Diverse Journeys
Embrace your unique path to growth and well-being.
In my practice, I provide specialized support and unique approaches to a wide range of individuals, with a particular focus on college students, BIPOC communities, and new therapists. While these special populations are an important part of my practice, my services are available to everyone seeking support and growth.
I believe in the power of inclusivity, recognizing that each person's experiences and challenges are unique. I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and affirming space for individuals from all backgrounds.
Together, we'll explore your specific concerns, build on your strengths, and develop personalized strategies tailored to your individual needs. My commitment is to foster an environment where diversity is celebrated, cultural backgrounds are honored, and personal growth is nurtured.
No matter who you are, where you come from, or the path you're on, I'm here to support you towards healing, empowerment, and self-discovery. Let's work together to create positive change in your life.
College Students
You had high hopes for college. Perhaps you looked forward to more independence, academic success, new friends, and lots of parties. But now that you’re there, you feel anxious, lost, overwhelmed, and insecure.
The demands of college, managing relationships, and finding your path can be overwhelming. I worked for over 20 years providing therapy at a university counseling center, so I have a profound understanding of the unique pressures you face during this transformative phase of life.
I specialize in providing tailored therapy for college students, offering guidance and tools to help you thrive academically, emotionally, and personally. We will explore topics such as stress management, anxiety, self-esteem, time management, and navigating transitions. Through our work, you'll develop resilience, gain insight into your strengths, and cultivate the skills necessary for success in both your academic and personal pursuits.
BIPOC
I see you.
As a Latina therapist with a doctoral degree emphasis in Multicultural and Community Psychology, I understand the unique challenges, systemic inequalities, and cultural dynamics that can impact mental health. After over 20 years of working with highly diverse populations in Los Angeles, I bring valuable insights and specialized knowledge that enhance my ability to support and empower BIPOC individuals.
With cultural sensitivity and a deep appreciation for your lived experiences, I provide a supportive and inclusive environment for us to address topics such as racial and ethnic identity, family issues, discrimination, intergenerational healing, and personal empowerment. I’ll work alongside you to empower and uplift your sense of self and identity.
New Therapists
That quote about you can’t pour from an empty cup is 100% accurate.
I have a special love for working with new therapists. My personal experience as a therapy client profoundly shaped my understanding of being a therapist, and taught me more about being a mental health professional than any graduate course ever did. I remember well the unique pressures and self-doubt that new therapists face, and I bring that empathy and understanding into our work together. I offer a safe and nurturing space where we can explore your concerns, celebrate your strengths, and build the confidence and skills you need to flourish in your therapeutic practice.
Together, we can explore issues such as imposter syndrome, self-confidence, building a therapeutic identity, exploring counter-transference issues, and managing the emotional demands of the profession.
While I provide guidance and insights based on my experience, it's important to note that our work together is not supervision. Instead, I focus on building a collaborative environment to help you navigate the transition into your therapeutic career.
Not only will you benefit, but your current and future clients benefit when you add yourself to the list of people you prioritize and care for.
